In 2004 Ricki, Dani and I created the Live Love and Laugh Foundation to fund research for a cure to metastatic melanoma.
That August, we lost our beloved Stuart to this disease, the most dangerous form of Skin Cancer. Inspired by his spirit and display of courage, we were determined to go forward in a positive way. A fund was started so that friends and family could honor Stuart’s memory. Due to the support of so many, we emerged into a foundation that finds its vision and inspiration by funding projects that reflect our belief in life, and living it to its fullest.
Generous donations from the Live Laugh Love Foundation are bringing us closer to understanding melanoma—a type of skin cancer. Exciting new treatments, which harness the power of the immune system to detect and destroy cancer cells, are promising hope for a cure.
For more than a century, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) has had a distinguished tradition of achievement in the field of cancer immunotherapy. One of the leaders in the field is Jedd D. Wolchok, MD, PhD, Chief of MSK’s Melanoma and Immunotherapeutics Service, and Director of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy.
Dr. Wolchok’s long-time immunotherapy efforts have demonstrated the enormous potential of ipilimumab, nivolumab, and other drugs that extends well beyond melanoma—in lung cancer, soft-tissue sarcoma, and others.
We are honored to support this life saving work and are so very grateful to you for joining us in this effort. Please note that 100% of the funds raised by our foundation support Dr. Wolchok.
With heartfelt gratitude,
